Whose Dog are You? is as much about author Ron Gard’s love of dogs as it is about his love of collecting. It primarily focuses on his extensive collection of dog collars that date from ancient to modern times. With an eye for the beautiful, the unusual and the rare, Ron continues to curate not only a collection of collars but also dog handle walking canes and other collectibles that celebrate dogs. This book comes to life with the beautiful photography of Jeff Moore, creative director, writer and photographer at jeffmooreimages.net. Jeff and Ron met at a national decoy show in Chicago 20 years ago. Sharing many interests, they have been friends ever since. Jeff lives in Livingston, Montana, and loves everything in the outdoors—hunting, fishing, sporting dogs, wildlife and landscapes. He also comes indoors from time to time to photograph products and food. His work has appeared in Ducks Unlimited, The Retriever Journal, Gray’s Sporting Journal, Field & Stream, California Waterfowl and Montana Outdoors. Jeff made the 2022 Audubon Photography Awards: The Top 100. Ron’s daughter, Christie Gard, has a background in photography and exhibit design. She provided countless hours of detailed project management, creative direction, and collaborative input, including naming the book. The foreword was written by Alan Fausel of The American Kennel Club Museum of the Dog, who celebrates the book’s focus on both the act of collecting and the love of dogs. This limited first edition consists of 1,000 numbered copies each signed by the authors.
